Exactly. I don't know if it had something to do with the Daily Cartoon or what. It sure saved on animation cost, because the opening was always the same, Dick Tracy sitting at a desk made a phone call.

damn, i remember this cartoon, made me want to learn karate, maybe just kids should watch this not adults, because some american adults are too sensitive to enjoy it for what it is, they'd rather bitch and moan about it, and nit pick at every piece of it. kids we see it a whole different way.

Dick Tracy never did anything but a Cameo in the beginning and end of every Cartoon. He didn't do anything. Yes, it was racist (it was the 1960's)Go Go Gomez, Joe Jitsu, etc were all Hollywood Stereotypes of ethnic minorities. The cartoon was about as formulaic as Casper the Ghost.
